Walking For Red started as a movement for my red heeler when he needed leg surgery that I couldn't afford. After successfully raising the funds I needed, I wanted to pay it forward. The campaign became my way to help everyone-human and animal-get the love, food and security they need to live.
Currently, my work is limited to Billings, Montana. I want to help anyone in need and give back to others.
After I suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2001, I felt hopeless. I thought about moving back to my home state of Virginia to live alone in the mountains. I might have done that, too, if not for a tawny pup named Red.
Red reminded me of the good in the world. He's a loyal friend, and he's showed me how to give love and compassion to those I meet.
Walking For Red helped me connect with other people who needed the unconditional love of an animal, and that helped the movement grow into what it is today. Help me continue my mission by continuing to give love.
Walking For Red's mission is to...
If you're struggling to see the good in the world, help an animal in need. It could change your worldview completely.
